最近の主要研究内容と業績
最近5年余りの主な研究内容は次の通りです。
(いずれも,元の職場である昭和大学 薬学部 生薬学・植物薬品化学教室との共同研究)

  1.  ゴシツとキキョウから,それぞれ十数種のトリテルペノイド配糖体を単離・構造決定しました。現在,これらのサポニンについてガン細胞増殖抑制活性に関する研究を進めています
  2.  サポニンの細胞毒性に関する研究:ステロイドやトリテルペンの配糖体であるサポニンの多くは界面活性作用をもち,溶血作用を示すことが知られています。数年前,共同研究者の口野嘉幸教授 (本学漢方治療学研究室/元国立癌センター研究所生物物理部長) が,私たちが植物より単離した数種サポニンに強いガン細胞増殖抑制活性があることを見出しました。この研究が,現在,そのガン細胞増殖抑制活性発現メカニズムに関する研究に発展しています。
  3.  アズキは古くから浮腫の治療にも用いられてきました。この活性本体を明らかにすべく研究を行っています。現在までに十数種のフラボノイド誘導体 (ポリフェノールの類) を単離・同定し,これらがいずれも強いラジカル消去能をもつことを明らかにしました。現在,これらの生理活性について研究を続けています。
  4.  ショウキョウとカンキョウは,共にショウガの根茎からつくられる生薬です。漢方ではこの二つの使用目的が違います。これらに関する研究の結果,薬効の違いは両者の成分に若干の違いによることがわかりました。この研究の副産物として,現在の市場品は,調製法が昔の方法から変わったために,成分の一部がスルホン化されることが明らかになりました。現在,この成分変化が薬効にもたらす影響について研究を続けています。
  5.  健胃薬として有名なゲンチアナは,元々ヨーロッパ原産の薬用植物で,今なお多くの胃腸薬に配合されています。これらは全てヨーロッパからの輸入品が使われていますが,北海道ではここ数十年にわたってゲンチアナの試験栽培が続けられてきました。これが生薬資源として有用であるか否かを検討するために成分研究を行っています。
